Mercedes GP PETRONAS driver Nico Rosberg has expressed his belief that the team has reached a "turning point", meaning they can now look forward to enjoying an extended run of results.

The team currently occupies fourth in the Constructors' Championship, but have failed to record a single podium finish. Despite this, Rosberg has insisted that team is about to enter a period of success.

Bruno Spengler, driver of the Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG C-Class, beat out Renger van der Zande, driver of the Stern AMG Mercedes C-Class, in the semi-final round and emerged as the best of the Mercedes-Benz group. He then managed to finish runner-up in the first of two competitions held over the weekend as Audi driver Edoardo Mortara took top hornors.

For the first time ever, DTM racing was staged on a specially constructed circuit in a sports stadium. The 3,911 foot track has been laid out over an area of 18,000 square metres on top of 8,000 cubic metres of aggregate material in the arena of the Munich Olympic Stadium.

Mercedes GP PETRONAS driver Michael Schumacher has claimed he missed a glaring opportunity to record a fifth or even a fourth place finish at the recent British Grand Prix.

The German claimed a respectable ninth place finish at Silverstone, but afterwards expressed regret that he did not place even higher.

Mercedes GP PETRONAS Team Principal Ross Brawn has hailed the manufacturer's "solid" points return at the British Grand Prix, with Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher finishing in sixth and ninth places respectively.

Brawn said he was especially pleased with the result given that both drivers began the race outside the top ten places on the grid.

The Mopar crowd has lots to celebrate thanks to Rob MacCachren and Andrew Caddell. MacCachren got his second win of 2011 in PRO 2 and Caddell scored his first win of the year in PRO Light last weekend. And fans can't forget about Ricky Johnson and Bryce Menzies's podium finishes in their Mopar-powered Rams.

Car to compete against Audi and Mercedes in the DTM

German magazine Auto Bild managed to catch the BMW M3 DTM in action while testing. The car was spotted racing around the the Oschersleben race circuit, a full week before its scheduled unveiling at BMW World in Munich.

A European Union court in Luxembourg has denied an Audi and Volkswagen attempt to trademark the term "TDI" for exclusive use on their engines, according to German newswire Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa). The judges presiding over the case said that the letters are an abbreviation that is not unique in the European Union.

Siemoneit Racing has unveiled a new performance package for the Volkswagen Golf R.

Designed to increase the model's sporting potential, the package features a new air intake (?449), a revised ECU (?698) and a stainless steel sport exhaust system (?1749). Thanks to these modifications, the engine produces 355 PS (261 kW / 350 hp) and 485 Nm (358 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 85 PS (63 kW / 84 hp) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft).
